Welcome to The Captain's Quarters

One of the most central boutique guest houses in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
The Captain’s Quarters guest house is a Grade II listed, 17th century sea merchant’s townhouse located in the “Old Town” close to the stunning waterfront and old dock. We are at the beginning of the brand new cycle route, the Sandstone Way.
Everything is at hand in this beautiful part of Berwick – restaurants, cafés, the theatre, real ale bars and independent shops. The railway station is only a 10 minute walk away with regular trains into Edinburgh city centre, a 40 minute journey, and Newcastle, just 45 minutes away.
The guest house is situated down a little cobbled lane called “Sallyport”, which is quiet yet very central. The lane was once painted by L.S. Lowry many moons ago. This part of town is steeped in nautical history as our guest house room names suggest: The Auld Seadog, Smugglers, The Captains Quarters, The Sail Loft and Sugar Sands.
One of the attractions of The Captain’s Quarters guest house is that the accommodation we offer is extremely flexible. We have family rooms as well as double rooms, all with en suite luxury bathrooms. All bookings are room only and we can also offer long stay accommodation for business people.
